In dermatology, and when I was in internal medicine, I always promote prevention as the key to health care. Have a yearly skin check from head to toe. Wear sunscreen. The potential for sun damage in the Okanogan is high. Everyone, including children, needs sunscreen at all times on his or her face, neck and hands. And stop photo damage — wear a hat, avoid basking by the pool. It all adds up to healthier, better looking skin. (Vilas Prabhu)
