Botox - The Nefertiti Lift

The Great Royal Wife of egyptian Pharoah Akhenaten, Nefertiti (1370BC - 1330BC), was the
mother-in-law of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. The name Nefertiti is roughly translated to mean "the perfect
one has arrived". She was famous for her beauty and the sculpture of her head is one of the most
recognizable icons of ancient Egypt. She was famous for more than her beauty however, as the artwork
of the time indicates she possibly had almost as much influence as her husband. She is depicted nearly twice as often in reliefs as her husband during the first five years of his reign. Much of this is also thought to have been due to her extreme beauty and the desire of her husband to have her image displayed prominently for all to see.

The Nefertiti lift is a new cosmetic procedure utilizing Botox to tighten the jawline of patients who suffer
excessive sagging in that specific area. Queen Nefertiti had a perfectly smooth and tight jawline, leading this particular use of Botox to be named after her.
As we gradually age, our family history, diet, and sun exposure affect the elasticity and tightness of our skin. This effect is more evident in some areas, and the jawline is an example of this wherein some people experience more sagging/loose skin than others.
Dr. Levy (France) designed a method for injecting Botox into the muscles that contribute to the excessive downward pull on the jawline. After treatment, a positive upward movement of the skin in that area leads to a sharper, younger looking jawline and face.
